When it comes to designing quality websites, it goes without saying that you need to give top priority to your users. A superior user experience is important for your web design to actually get noticed. Besides, it is this user experience that ensures that your visitors keep coming back to a website that you have designed. There is a plethora of elements that you need to consider when designing a website to ensure maximum UX. Sometimes, simple mistakes can cost your client dearly as they lose important visitors which could have led to a conversion. When using to create websites for your clients, you must also consider these trivial yet important points to ensure an enjoyable user experience.

1.)   Too much information in one page:

Agreed you have a lot to offer your clients but there has to be a certain discipline when designing the pages of your website. If you have only recently started your journey as a website designer, you are likely to feel this pressure of providing your clients with the best and therefore, you are likely to cram the pages with unwanted information that will do you more harm than good. Providing ad space, designing gorgeous icons and providing social media links are crucial for any website, however, stuffing them in a web page in an unappealing manner will only take away the aesthetic appeal, not to mention the reduced functionality that will drive the users away.

Instead of burdening your users with too much information, try to keep the design as simple and minimalistic as possible. When you have two distinct sections of text to be included, make sure that the distinction is visible and obvious. Besides, links to social media must adopt a more subtle approach. Use white space liberally in your design as it will go easy on the eyes of your users.

2.)   Call to action is a must:

If your website provides all the information but fails to put up a call for action, the users will not know what to do next and the best thing that they are likely to do is leave your site and visit another one. Therefore, when designing your website, ensure that the layout is clean and the content understandable. Besides, using contact forms is a must. It does not matter whether you wish to create a blog, a company website or an e-commerce site; call for action in the form of web contact forms will do wonders for your clients.

3.)   Make your web forms easy to fill:

While you may induce call to action by way of your contact forms, designing a contact form well is also equally important to ensure a good user experience. If you are designing a website for a client who wants a blog, only basic user information should be included. This could include the name, website and email address of the user. Adding unnecessary fields will only lead to more frustration on the part of the users and they may consider using a competitor’s website as a better option. Unless your client runs an e-commerce website, you must include only 3-4 fields in your contact or sign up form when creating websites using

4.)   Ask for feedback:

You will not be in a position to design stunning websites and provide an enjoyable user experience if you are not aware of what exactly a user wants. Therefore, every time you come up with a mock web design or a rough wireframe of your design, you must ask your clients and other users for a constant feedback so that you can improvise accordingly.
